William IV Japanned Card Table of premier quality

A Beautiful William IV Japanned Card Table of Premier Quality, the top decorated with a central bouquet of exotic flowers flanked by a pair of Birds of Paradise and bordered with gilded rococo arabesques, the frieze with Chinese style gilt panels, the column and base with gilt leaves and panels of flowers, 

NOTE: Unlike much japanned furniture of the Early 19th Century, this table is made of solid wood japanned and NOT papier mache.  It is therefore as stable and robust as a mahogany or rosewood equivalent, but of course much rarer.  A table of this quality would have been made by a top cabinet shop with specialist painters to decorate and gild.
