Beautifully engraved Silver Plated Serving Tongs

A Beautifully Engraved pair of Victorian Silver Plated Serving Tongs, the fine quality extending to a beautifully ribbed ivory handle. Their exact original purpose is unknown, but In Victorian times tongs were used for clasping a variety of things, such as bread, asparagus, small sandwiches and even sardines!  This lovely pair is a rare artefact from a bygone era, and in very fine condition.
