Pretty Japanned Papier Mache Box

 A Pretty Black & Gold Japanned Papier Mache Box, probably originally a tea caddy, with well painted scenes to the top and front of the box, the lid with an interior scene entitled 'The Favourite Falcon', and the front with a lovely pastoral scene.  Lock stamped VR with a crown and 'Mechi's Patent' [John Mechi, Leadenhall Street, London].  Original metal foil remains to the base of the interior
