Fine & small Mahogany Late Georgian Escritoire

A Fine & Small Late Georgian Mahogany Escritoire or Writing Desk in the manner of Gillows, the front veneered from a single sheet of flame mahogany, flanked by carved and moulded pilasters, with a concealed frieze drawer above the fall front revealing an interior with original leather & 4 drawers, one fitted for inkwells, all raised on plain turned feet.  The lock of Bramah type, stamped GR crowned, for George IV, circa 1820-30
